Holme Farm Equestrian is a popular, long-established training facility and livery yard in Scropton, Derbyshire. Formerly a riding school for over 20 years, the cent was taken over by chief instructor, Jo Freer and now concentrates on the production of horses for showjumping and working hunter and is a training/competition facility for all ages from grassroots to national level.
The centre has two excellent all-weather arenas,off-road seasonal woodland hacking, an on-site riding club, and regularly hosts a variety of events throughout the year.
The proprietors and staff have vast experience in many aspects of equestrianism and compete to the national level. We can offer help and advice with breeding, youngstock, breaking, schooling, and preparation for competition. We have a close working relationship with Pool House Equine Clinic and a variety of specialists in equine therapy, such as sports massage and dentistry.
Every year we host a camp at Somerford Park in Cheshire, which is very popular, and a nervous novice camp here at Holme Farm. Our mini hunter trials and dressage competitions, with beautiful rosettes and podium presentations are very popular with all ages from lead rein up!
